4. What does Aggression Formula contain?

PetAlive Aggression Formula contains the following 100% herbal ingredients:

Scutellaria laterifolia (Scullcap): is well-regarded for supporting the nervous system. Scullcap may be used for situational problems linked to a demanding event (e.g. a trip to the vet or a competitive event) or as a general tonic used to support the entire nervous system, encouraging calm behavior while also soothing tempered pets. (Wolfson, P. and Hoffmann, D. L. “An investigation into the efficacy of Scutellaria lateriflora in healthy volunteers.” Altern Ther Health Med 2003;9(2):74-78.)

Matricaria recutita (Chamomilla): is a medicinal herb that has been used by European naturopaths for centuries. It has natural calming properties and can help to facilitate soothed behavior in your pet. In one cardiac study, patients fell asleep soon after drinking Chamomile tea (Gould, L., Reddy, C. V., and Gomprecht, R. F. “Cardiac effects of chamomile tea.” J Clin.Pharmacol. 1973;13(11):475-479.)

Belladonna (C30): is a natural remedy included in this formula for its positive effects on oversensitive animals that are prone to ‘hissy fits’ and that tend to manifest physically in the form of scratching or hissing.

Arsen alb. (30C):  is a natural remedy used to support the affectionate and sensitive pet that nevertheless tends to become easily agitated and restless, often needing lots of reassurance. Pets who have a tendency towards jealousy would also find this ingredient beneficial.

Hepar. sulph. (30C): is often recommended for oversensitive, restless personality types who hide their angst by displaying irritability and as well as those who take unreasonable likes or dislikes to others.

Lactose: (inactive ingredient)

12. What else can I do to help my pet?

  • Remove aggression triggers if possible. If your dog is aggressive around food or bones, feed him on his own in a different room.
  • Keep aggressive animals away from small children even if they have never bitten anyone before
  • If a normally calm animal becomes aggressive then take him for a complete physical check-up with a holistic vet as soon as possible, as there may be underlying health problems.
  • Have there been any recent changes in your pet's environment, which may have triggered his aggression, such as a new baby or a job that keeps you away for longer periods than before?
  • Regular exercise is a good outlet for pent up emotions and will help to keep your pet healthy and fit. But keep your dog on a lead at all times and consider investing in a muzzle if necessary.
  • Ensure your pet is eating a balanced, high quality diet with plenty of raw and unprocessed food (preferably organic). Many behavioral problems can be related to an inadequate diet.
  • As a last resort, neutering your male dog or cat may help to control aggressive behavior
